About Rehab Matters

23Rehab Matters is passionate about assisting clients achieve their optimal level of independence and resume their life roles as a result of an injury or disability.

We are a private rehabilitation provider of occupational therapy and case management services specialising in spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities.  It was established by Bronwyn Mewett and is based on her extensive knowledge and experience as an occupational therapist in the area of community based spinal cord injury rehabilitation.

Occupational therapy services can be provided on an assessment only basis as well as part of a goal focused rehabilitation program requiring longer term intervention.

Rehab Matters specialises in assessment and prescription of environmental modifications to the home, school or workplace environment as well as assessment and prescription of disability related equipment such as manual and power wheelchairs.

High quality case management services for clients with spinal cord injury and other physical disabilities is also a specialty.


About Bronwyn

28Since graduating as an Occupational Therapist in 1997, Bronwyn has predominately worked in the area of community based rehabilitation.  Her area of specialty is spinal cord injury rehabilitation and she has extensive experience in the public and private sector as both an Occupational Therapist and Case Manager.

Bronwyn’s experience includes a period of working for almost 10 years as a senior Occupational Therapist at a specialist community based spinal cord injury service with Hunter New England Area Health Service.  Bronwyn has also held a sessional Occupational Therapy teaching position at Newcastle University preparing and delivering a learning unit on spinal cord injury, pressure care and wheelchair prescription.

Since 2007, Bronwyn has worked in the private sector and has continued to provide specialist occupational therapy and case management services for clients with spinal cord injury as well as other disabilities such as neurological, musculoskeletal, amputations, traumatic brain injury and orthopaedic injuries.  She has developed further skills in case management and occupational therapy intervention for clients within a variety of private and public funding bodies.  This has included NSW CTP claimants, Workers Compensation claimants (treatment only), NSW Lifetime Care and Support Authority (LTCS) participants, Victorian TAC participants as well as clients from NSW government funded agencies such as Home Care, ADHC and Enable.

Bronwyn is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia and has attained full registration status enabling her to practice nationally as an Occupational Therapist.  Bronwyn is committed to maintaining a high level of professional development to keep up to date with the latest research and ensure she is able to deliver a best practice approach for her clients.
